Career? - singing, piano, organ, conducting and composing, oh... and the harp. All pretty classical mind. Charlotte's a painter and photographer and her work is all round the flat. We live in Norfolk most of the time and I pop up to teach in the garden studio weekly. The garden here in London is a real joy, perfect for lunch on the lawn or tea in the arbour. Tea? Lapsang please. No sugar. Warm the pot if there's time.
Speaks: English

Period flat with period furniture and original artwork. Country style decoration with log fire and excellent light - we are on the top floor and views are good: we're in the heart of the Stockwell Conservation Area. The room is South-facing with a large oak tree by the window and the 90 foot by 45 foot garden below. This was our first home together and we share many happy memories of waking up together and the sun streaming in on opening the curtains. French furniture in the bedroom with antique sleigh bed and new mattress. There's a desk in front of the window and a comfy chair, plus plenty of storage space and an antique armoire. The sitting room enjoys an open fireplace and antique furniture. The sofa is big enough to stretch out on and there's plenty of books, mostly on photography, art and music. Views of the street are unimpeded: the houses in our area are mostly mid-Victorian detached villas and the street is leafy and rather beautiful.

Do as you would be done by. Don't as you wouldn't have done.

Household info

Joseph lodges 5 nights a week in the second bedroom. I travel up from Norfolk and stay from Thursday to Sunday most weeks up in the attic. Of occasion, Charlotte, baby and dog come too - usually once a month. The attic's pretty big! Zita comes to clean on Saturday afternoons. The garden is communal to the four flats in the house, although almost always only used by us.

Amenities
