I am an architect, who retrained as a primary school teacher once our children started school - I learned so much about British culture that way! We are an active family, loving to cycle, run, play tennis, but most of all play and coach volleyball and beach volleyball. I love to read books when I've got some time!
Speaks: French, English and Haitian Creole with a little dip into Spanish
Sleeps like a: night owl
Takes tea: milky

The Space

Our home is a very spacious end-of-terrace flat over two open-plan floors with big traditional windows. The room is right beside the front door for easy/independent access (we tend to use the back door). It has a double bed, two spacious wardrobes and an off-the-bedroom area with clothes rail and space for personal toiletries. There are two bathrooms, one on each floor, shared with the rest of the household (usually just the two of us). You will have access to the spacious kitchen-dining room....

You will have access to the spacious kitchen-dining room. We are very close to Twickenham train station (2-minute walk) with fast trains to Central London (20 mins to Waterloo on fast train, easy connections to Victoria via Clapham Junction). It is a quiet family neighbourhood with leafy streets, a short walk/cycle from the Thames and Royal Parks (Marble Hill, Bushy Park, Richmond Park). We're just off the high street with Waitrose, coffee shops, some restaurants and pubs. There are a few gyms and lots of outdoor activities (cycle lanes) in the neighbourhood and you will enjoy some beautiful walks down the river just a few minutes away.

Ideal guest

1 month minimum stay. Open to longer lets. Our ideal guest would be able to clean after themselves, be tidy and should look after their room and common areas as if it was their own family home. We are quite sociable and like to have chats and get to know each other, but at other times, our guest will be on their own as we go about our multiple activities. As this is a quiet neighbourhood, we would not like to create noise after 10 pm. Our guest should ideally like dogs as we have a little one who loves to play with everyone!

Household info

The permanent household will be myself and my husband, but we often have visiting friends and family. We have a little dog who goes in all the rooms if they are left open but never causes any damage to goods - except balls! Our grown-up children, young professionals, live with us at the moment with us, but we assume that can change quickly with circumstances. If you are a vegetarian/vegan and a bit sensitive on that issue, please note that we are flexitarian and love meat as much as vegetables.

Amenities

All utilities are included in the price. That means Electricity, Gas, Water and Internet.

House rules

A limited number of visitors will be allowed, not overnight, as long as it doesn't become too rowdy or we deem it to be unsociable. No smoking will be allowed at all in the house.
